Privacy Policy

Your files

Every tool on FileKit processes your files entirely within your own browser, using JavaScript and WebAssembly running on your device. When you merge a PDF, resize an image, or run text recognition, that file is never uploaded to FileKit's servers or any third party — because there is no upload step at all. We have no server-side code that ever receives, stores, or has access to the content of files you process on this site.

The one exception is the Fill Forms Online section: the blank, official government form templates are hosted as static files and downloaded to your browser so you can fill them in — but the answers you type are never sent anywhere either. The completed PDF is generated and downloaded locally, the same as every other tool.

What we do collect

FileKit does not require an account, and we do not collect or store the content of any file, image, or text you process. We may use standard, privacy-conscious website analytics (such as Google Analytics, if enabled) to understand aggregate traffic — for example, which tool pages are most visited — and advertising (such as Google AdSense, if enabled) to keep the site free. These services may use cookies or similar technologies and can collect standard technical data like your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, governed by their own privacy policies.

Local storage

Some tools may use your browser's local storage or session memory to hold in-progress work (for example, a file you've selected but haven't downloaded yet). This data stays on your device and is cleared when you close the tab or clear your browser data — it is never transmitted anywhere.

Cookies and advertising

Where advertising is enabled on FileKit, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our visitors based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. If advertising vendors beyond Google are ever used on this site, you can also manage opt-outs across participating vendors at www.aboutads.info.

If you're visiting from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, ads on this site (where enabled) are served through a consent management flow that asks for your permission before setting non-essential cookies or using your data for ad personalization, in line with GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. You can change your choice at any time through that consent tool.

Third-party services

Pages may load fonts from Google Fonts and, where configured, analytics or advertising scripts from Google. These third parties may set their own cookies and are governed by their own privacy policies (see how Google uses information from sites that use its services). No file content ever passes through them — only standard page-visit and ad-serving data.
